A Shared Vision for Salinas

Salinas Renaissance Partners is a development group that, in collaboration with the City of Salinas and key community constituents, is spearheading a project to revitalize 26.6 acres of downtown Salinas.

Downtown Salinas Master Plan Area

The redevelopment plan includes urban parks, plazas, public facilities, walkable streets, ease of pedestrian access, multi-use buildings and downtown housing. For more information or a more visual overview, visit Salinas Renaissance Partners in downtown Salinas and view a 16-foot-by-10-foot scale model of downtown.

Public participation is paramount in ensuring that Salinas residents and business owners have the opportunity to contribute their ideas and embrace a shared vision for the future of their city. For all involved, the project provides an opportunity to give back to the community, create a vibrant hub to attract visitors and locals, and provide critical amenities for business and the community.

A series of events will provide a public forum for community discussion and input. Watch this space for ongoing dates and locations.

Next Steps

Over the next several months we will be refining the concept plans within each District of downtown as we review and understand market needs, economics, financing, infrastructure, costs, phasing, the entitlement process, and the potential for strategic partnerships. We will be reviewing updated information, plans and ideas with the City and stakeholders with the goal of obtaining an agreement on a Preferred Plan by late summer 2009.
